Our story began in 1940, when master goldsmith Leif Johannessen (1892–1962) founded the company with his wife Betzy in Voss. Since then, Sylvsmidja has become Norway’s most recognized silversmith, known for exquisite bunad silver (bunadsølv) and modern jewelry collections inspired by Norwegian heritage and nature.
